Marrakesh Treaty: A Boon to the Print Disabled Community

One of the significant steps taken by the Government of India to Facilitate Access to Published Works by persons with Print Disabilities. India is the first country to ratify the Treaty.

The Marrakesh Treaty to Facilitate Access to Published Works for Persons Who Are Blind, Visually Impaired, or Otherwise Print Disabled (MVT) aims to create a set of mandatory limitations and exceptions for the benefit of the blind, visually impaired, and otherwise print disabled (VIPs).

Canada became the 20th nation to accede to the Marrakesh Treaty, and the treaty entered into force on 30 September 2016.
